There's something about orange and black... it resonates with something from my youth... what could it be??

Ooh me too that's nice!

I wasn't sure if the colors would look good unless it was clean and shiny. Was a toss up between a limelight and a Peterbuilt but I'm glad I went with the limelight.

Is that James Bond's Aston Martin?

I've taken the plunge!!! 60's style jazz, heavy relic, colour will be the same shade of green that's on the Mexican flag (I've found a cool relic'd Mex flag pickguard to go with it), matching headstock. Cannot wait!!!!

The Corgi version. Bulletproof screen, radiator guns and the famous ejector seat.
Passenger accessory usually lost within five minutes. ;)

Look forward to that! If you've specified a heavy relic then it will certainly be a heavy relic!

Very nice looking. I have a black and rosewood P/J bass and often wondered how it would look with a tort pickguard. Now I know!

It does. Great-looking bass, despite my misgivings about tort on black... not much choice in 1965, though... :)

I dunno.
Two blokes that I knew bought their Fender Ps brand new with white 3 ply guards in 1965.
One in Germany, via the NAAFI in January '65, was sonic blue with a white guard, the second from Selmers, Charing Cross Road in September '65 was dakota red with a white guard.
Geordie and Tony, if you are still alive and reading this, please back me up; more to the point, where are those basses now?

So tort and white. :) 1965 Dakota Red with a white guard sounds very lush.

My wait is coming to an end! Mark let me know that they're currently working on my CBS era 'Phil Lynott' Precision replica and it should be in my eager hands early May!
