hey guys,

a few months ago i bought this fender 1964 jazz bass, completely stripped. i send it over to mark from limelight and just got it back... :-)

I too am gassing for one of these... Just wondered if mark manages to get that lovely checking into the finish that custom shop relics come with? I haven't really been able to tell from the pics on here...

I know what you mean, but the newer ones are a lot better.
The "Classic" range is very good. Not just "for the price". My Classic 50 Precision (see avatar) is excellent in every way. Worth checking out, you might be pleasantly surprised.

So... I bit the bullet and placed my order about 6 weeks ago. The wait is absolutely killing me and I had to tell people who understand.

It's a 66 Jazz in shoreline gold with desert sand undercoat, matching headstock, rosewood with b&b neck... I'll get some pictures up as soon as it arrives ;-)

Does he just stick to tradition fender styles? I've been thinking about a precision with an old Thunderbird pick-up in the bridge for some time now. Maybe with a Jazz neck.... Talk about a Frankenbass!

.... funny where basses end up. That White over Sunburst was once in my possession (no 00125 IIRC), played great however I'm more a jazz fan so have now got a jazz limelight again .

Did your 66' arrive at last ? Shoreline gold with desert sand is tempting me... We are waiting for pictures

He gave me the impression it would be significantly (and possibly prohibitively) more costly. Didn't follow up on how much exactly though. Would love to see pics of one.
