spiltmilk_2000 Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 I too am gassing for one of these... Just wondered if mark manages to get that lovely checking into the finish that custom shop relics come with? I haven't really been able to tell from the pics on here... Quote
Tweedledum Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015
I have not enough money for real Fender so I thought - Limelight?
Mexican Fenders are in the Limelight price range. Quote
ColinB Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 They've improved a lot in the past few years. Quote
mcnach Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015
I had mexican fender many years ago - it was not what I wanted.
I know what you mean, but the newer ones are a lot better. The "Classic" range is very good. Not just "for the price". My Classic 50 Precision (see avatar) is excellent in every way. Worth checking out, you might be pleasantly surprised. Quote
spiltmilk_2000 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 So... I bit the bullet and placed my order about 6 weeks ago. The wait is absolutely killing me and I had to tell people who understand. It's a 66 Jazz in shoreline gold with desert sand undercoat, matching headstock, rosewood with b&b neck... I'll get some pictures up as soon as it arrives ;-) Quote
SingleMalt Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Does he just stick to tradition fender styles? I've been thinking about a precision with an old Thunderbird pick-up in the bridge for some time now. Maybe with a Jazz neck.... Talk about a Frankenbass! Quote

I've been considering a precision with 2 t'bird pickups myself... Quote
eevespete Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Here's my artillery.. Played the P last night at the O2 Newcastle supporting Bad Manners. It didn't fail to provide BEEF Quote
Hector Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Putting my Limelight up for sale if anyone's interested: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/271630-limelight-1963-precision/ Quote

karlfer Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 OFF TOPIC ALERT. Christian, what sort of business did your TecAmp cabs in white? Presumably not TecAmp themselves? Great looking basses by the way. Quote
Christian Houmann Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 I was actually the one that suggested Thomas to make in white . You should be able to order them in white from Tecamp Quote

karlfer Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Interesting, thank you for that Christian Quote
Hector Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Couldn't bring myself to sell it! Will have to dig a bit deeper this month and next, but I'll regret losing Blue Ben* way too much. *After Benjamin Button, since it was born looking old Quote
jimbobothy Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 .... funny where basses end up. That White over Sunburst was once in my possession (no 00125 IIRC), played great however I'm more a jazz fan so have now got a jazz limelight again . Quote
spiltmilk_2000 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 The white over sunburst precision looks awesome!!! I'm seriously considering ordering a precision too... Despite the fact my jazz hasn't arrived yet! :-) Quote

We are waiting for pictures I saw on classicandcool website that a White 66 JB was on the way... Quote
He gave me the impression it would be significantly (and possibly prohibitively) more costly. Didn't follow up on how much exactly though. Would love to see pics of one. Quote
