Not yet I'm afraid :( Monday was week 15 and I was told 12 - 16 weeks but hopefully sooner. So can't wait, it can't be that much longer.

Looks like I forgot to post pictures of my Limelight bass. Its a replica of a 1960 Fender Jazz Stack Knob Fretless in Sherwood Green.

The top one (natural) is a Fender Jazz 1975 American Vintage Re-issue. The bottom one is basically an ESP 400 Series Jazz based on a Fender 1966 Jazz. They were made in the same factory as the Japanese Fender's so it could of come of the production line with a Fender logo, ESP logo or I believe a Tokai logo on the headstock. All the components are exactly the same as a Fender including the headstock shape, neck, bridge, tuners, fittings, control plate and fittings etc.

Just realised I didn’t actually post a picture of my Limelight in this thread. The full unedited version is here, but the brief version is I wanted a John Deacon alike P bass in the finish (stripped) that he was using it for the Live Aid gig.

I know I mentioned I had a spare Flea neck which I was going to use in my Limelight build, but I ended up using that for my own self build bitsa J which you can see here. On with the photos....

Well here I am with my new squeeze! I recently joined The Barking Poets (check us out!) and needed a bass fitting for the punk rock vibe we play.

Got this one a week before the gig thanks to @Marc S and just couldn't be happier (top chap to deal with BTW).

I got a lot of compliments on the day, it so looks the part!

Now I want another one with maple board, I've seen a purple one in the past I'd love to own!!

The relic is super genuine and makes me not worry about the occasional ding or stage affairs.

Best,

Ander.

Had this for nearly 5 years I think, purchased from Soulman of this parish. It is lovely, though not getting much action at the moment! It's a '64 tribute.

Thanks mate…

From the left…

1. Charcoal frost paint.. jazz neck.. strung BEAD for down tuning.

2. Black paint, jazz neck.. regular tune.. a straight ‘63 spec (my no.1)

3. Olympic white.. jazz neck.. (backup bass) ‘63 spec again

4. Olympic white over Candy Apple Red.. P neck with matched headstock and.. standard tune.. 70’s black scratchplate for when I’m in a punk mood!

All medium to heavy relics.. I just need a stack nob Jazz to go with them now..! 🤔

Beautiful. Is that charcoal frost on the left? More pics please!

Yes the Charcoal Frost on the left.. the camera doesn’t really show how different it is.. it’s the colour of the Sean Hurley P.. here’s a few closer pics when they came out of the cases earlier..

I notice some of the limelight necks have what looks like 3 notches at the bottom of the  fingerboard , is that a kinda trade mark or part of the relic

Thats where the relic insects get onto the end grain and start eating big lumps. They have to keep pushing them off and get them eating the finish again like they are supposed to

odd one out (and aware I'm better off on the 'looking for' section of gear on sale).

If anyone is thinking of letting go of their Limelight precision, I may be interested - bonus points if not too relic / funky colour / lightweight / jazz neck.

I've one on the way but I'm working towards a trio of P's for both my bands!

Best,

Ander.

So... Big day today friends - my new Limelight is ready and will be shipped out to me on Tuesday.

I will report once in hand, but the spec is alder/maple neck, purple metallic under white, '68 P bass with Jazz neck and some winks to the 57/58s. Lightweight as requested with Goto Resolites at 3.7kg/8.2lbs. Ultra Light relic with weather checking on the nitro. Matching headstock and well, a Nordy Blade P I had around (I'll have Limelight's 70s vintage hot pickup in the tweed case ordered).

I can boldly say it is the most beautiful bass I've ever seen - challenge me to that!

The experience with Mark has been superb, and I think it shows; the first three pictures are more colour accurate, the ones on the floor show more blue than the bass is - enter Grimace!

.... AND LOOK AT THAT HEADSTOCK!!!!!

I am already a very happy customer, and will be hunting another Limelight P veeery, very soon! Hope you enjoyed it, will share more detail!

Last time I spoke to Mark he couldn’t guarantee a lightweight build… has that changed now..?

Hm! Whilst he couldn't guarantee weight he did say he'd lookout for a light body...! Pretty happy with 3.7kg, anything over 4kg I just can't deal with.

all in good time.

(AKA I've been waiting a year, it's apparently a couple of weeks away, I'll be happy if it's this side of Christmas! It's not a limelight btw)
