Fearful 15/6

I decided that although I loved the sound of my BFM Omni 15 ( built from scratch about 7 years ago ) that my old body needed a lighter similar voiced cab for gigging! --

Finding it difficult to source good quality lightweight ply in small quantity I turned to Richard on the forum ( http://www.speakerbuilder.co.uk ) and ordered a ready built lightweight Bare cab, also ordered crossover components and Metal front grille and standoffs!
Found Richard to be very helpful and very knowledgable about the Fearful Cabs!

Cab and parts duly arrived a couple of weeks later and I must say I was impressed by the standard of workmanship!

Very light filling and sanding completed quickly

Next a couple of coats of Turbo blue Tuff cab paint rollered on!

Then Acoustic Foam glued in place!

Next crossover built up and soldered etc!

Crossover installed and cables in place and secured!

Final photo shows top of cab stuffed with damping and pet screen stapled to hold it in place

Camera battery then failed so can't show the installation of drivers and front grille, but will update as soon as possible with pics of completed cabinet!

Had it on soak playing music through it for the last 48 hours to bed in the new 18 sound 6" Neo mid driver ( I used the Kappalite 3015LF from my Omni Cab, so that is well run in! )

Taking it out to its first Gig tonight and hopefully all should be well!

Will

Will :D I was wondering when you'd get round to building one - I've been tempted with my own build - pre made via Richard like yours, but the 12/6. :) how heavy did it turn out to be, and how's it compare to your omni

Hi Luke Just done a very accurate Weight check and it is 19.5 kg! ---Amazing for such a powerful Cab!

At last nights gig I unleashed the Full 1000 watts of my ( your old ) Puma 1000 into it in bridged mode and it sounded absolutely stupendous -- A match made in heaven!!!
It sounds as good as the Omni, maybe a touch less bottom end -- but its not horn loaded like the Omni so I expected that -- and of course the mid driver is slightly better than the Omni!

Will.
