alexbarrett95
Hi guys, I've found a Gallien Krueger mb112 that comes with the extra 1x12 cab for just over £500... Just wondering if anyone has any reviews of this combo amp (either on its own or with the extra powered cab) Thanks in advance
stevie
I had an MB115. It had a thin, cheap cabinet whose build quality was dire. The speaker was the cheapest possible Chinese dross. The amplifier section had some nice features but the cabinet started vibrating at anything more than room volume. It's light because it's insubstantial and it's cheap because it's built down to a price. There's no doubt a market for that kind of thing, but I'd be very reluctant to buy Gallen Krueger again after seeing how they cut corners on that series of amps. Mine was Chinese-built, by the way. machinehead
Agree with tha post above. The ones I have heard have boomed at fairly low volumes, sounded thin and appeared to be a bit fragile. Frank.
gafbass02
I have an MB112-ii. I find it a fantastic little combo, good build and tone. Not a room shaker, but good for small gigs/monitoring. Also lovely for acoustic guitar. It doesn't sound that great compared to my main rig, but for what it is, which is a very portable, compact combo it's great. I can't speak for the older version though. jassbass
I had a neo 2x10 combo.that cut out on me and I didnt really like the sound.was very loud 500 watt amp but a bit boomy, not punchy enough. I have a neo gk 2x10 cab and I like it,so it was just the combo I didnt like
bassfunk
I've got the MB112-II plus extension cab. Great little rig for my function gigs, good for upright too. Can't comment on the reliability as I've only used it on around 10 gigs so far. But it's light, punchy and an easy lift! My only problem is the DI doesn't have a ground lift. alexbarrett95
Settled on the tc electronic bh500 with bc410 cab... Came today in the post and all I can say is good things! Used it for rehearsal today and man is it loud, such a good tone and the tube tone function sound great! Definitely made the right decision there
