Mixing George L jacks with other cables

Can I put a standard cable into a George L jack?

I have a few .225 George L jacks, and Ideally I'd like to have a couple of George Ls on one end and standard flat jacks on the other side.
I'd also like to remove the straight jack from my Moog EP2 and connect a George L instead.

Is this possible/wise?

Thanks. I've never seen George L cables and am not familiar with their method of connection, so wanted to make sure that there was nothing unique about them
