Rebinterleave Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I'm new to West Sussex: I started out with the double bass some 50 years ago but migrated to guitar, bass guitar and keyboard (whatever the current band needed most) and through folk to pop to blues to jazz and back to folk. I'm also now getting back into loving the bass sound, and practising runs on my old Fender Jazz. I'm looking for both a half-decent double bass and for a band to play in - folk or jazz or WHY within 20 miles-ish of Pulborough. Quote

Mykesbass Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Welcome to the forum. If it is acoustic folk that you are after, the Amberley Folk Club has a nice reputation - never been personally but pass the pub in which it is held every day. The links on here don't seem to be working but first page has been updated and there is an open mic on 2nd September: http://www.folkjam.org/recurring-jam/uk/wsx/houghton/amberley-acoustic-music-club Quote
BassTractor Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) Hey Rebinterleave, and welcome! Here's a half-decent double bass that might take yer fancy, seeing as you already have a Fender Jazz: (sorry I couldn't find pictures of "bands to play in" on this internet thing) Enjoy our company! best, bert Edited August 29, 2014 by BassTractor Quote
