alyctes Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Why is it this sort of thing comes up when I'm broke? :grumbles: Good luck with the sale
PlungerModerno Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 OOOOooooo! What years are they from? - I've been keeping an eye out for a YOB bass and was just wondering... see: http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/reference/dating.htm
megallica Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 John will clarify but I'd say 1984 (passive) and 1986 (active), great basses, I already own one or I'd be tempted.
6feet7 Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) This man knows his Ibanez' February 1986. 4142th Guitar that month Edited November 16, 2014 by 6feet7
megallica Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 (edited) The first three characters on the neck plate should indicate the month and year of manufacture. Mine starts B84...... for February 1984 Edited October 3, 2014 by megallica
andy67 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) I bought one of these recently, simply stunning! Very versatile tone generator and slap monster! Very fast neck, action so low ... light yet robust and for a 30 year old bass, after a little t-cut, looks new! good luck with the sale, whoever gets them will definitely not be disappointed! Guest MoJo Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 If I can sell my Hartke LH1000, I'd love to take the passive one off your hands
kevvo66 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Wish I wasn't. Moving house or I would be all over these. Good luck with sale
jahfish Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 tell me more about the active controls please. Also are they one piece/maple necks?
6feet7 Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 (edited) Pickup blend, volume, tone. No idea about the neck. It's painted black like the body. I'm sure there is information online but I haven't found it. If anyone else knows do let me know Edited November 16, 2014 by 6feet7
Marc S Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 These are quality basses and for the money, they're superb value I used to own one, in my first spell of playing (a good few years back now) I heard from several people, that they were made in the same factory as Japan Fenders Of course, that could be wrong, but I heard it from several sources? Great instruments though, and underrated IMHO GLWTS Marc
6feet7 Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 I hadn't heard the Fender Japan link but the quality is definitely there.
rainbowreality Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Hi! I'm very interested in the passive one, do you have any idea of postage cost? Cheers
