Number6 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Great band(s) i also am partial to Gov't Mule with Allen Woody on bass. Quote
BILL POSTERS Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Theres a 'rockumentary' doing the rounds on Heyday TV (Sky 192) gets repeated quite a lot. Quote
Chienmortbb Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Why should we not get you started on Steely Dan? Quote
Lozz196 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Love CCR, so many great songs. Worth checking out Jon Foghertys The Long Road Home, live CD, it`s excellent. Quote
discreet Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Loved CCR since I was a kid wearing out their singles on my mono Dansette record player... Quote

The Admiral Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) I think this is from the Albert Hall - Fortunate Son : great, great track. Love the bass rig too - the very antithesis of lightweight gear : four 8x10s (or possibly 2x15s)! Rock & Roll baby!!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=plj82F4kY7o Edited August 31, 2014 by The Admiral Quote

BILL POSTERS Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) Always struck me as a wildly undated band, Bad Moon Rising always takes me back to bombing down to Rickmansworth in a Mk2 Zodiac to see my then girlfriend - great car when your only about 17 - Heres my favourite creedence track, whch nobody else ever seems to have heard of. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuPtOtGF4TY Edited August 31, 2014 by icastle Link Fixed. John Schoen Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Another Creedence track that you don't hear very often; I love this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb3ppp_RoT0 Quote
flyfisher Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Yep, can't go wrong with a bit of CCR. Theirs is my favourite version of 'heard it through the grapevine' Quote
Lot of car for 17, 2.6litres iirc. straight 6, 3 speed column change. Used to use about 8 gals of gas an one of oil to get there and back. Petrol was only about 5/6d a gallon though. Quote

Diablo Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014
Heres my favourite creedence track, which nobody else ever seems to have heard of.
Well I persuaded my last band to include it in the setlist so not so! We did our bit to spread the word about Jose and his tractor! Great to have a thread on CCR - possibly my favourite band/style ever. Even made it into one of my favourite films - Apocalypse Now - who can name that tune? And was it CCR themselves playing it live? Cheers, Rich Quote
leroydiamond Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Was listening to their album 'Cosmos Factory' the other day and every track is a classic. Outstanding recording from a terrific band. Quote

Maude Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I love CCR, it's a shame that most 'non musos' only seem to know 'Bad Moon Rising' though as that's one of my least favourites of theirs. I wanted our 'acoustic' band to do Down on the Corner but they looked at me like I'd lost the plot.
