paul_5
Just got home after a mammoth session with the guys (we're stead pretty far around the country, and rehearse once a month) and my fingers are *stinging*. In a good way - fortunately no wrist, shoulder or back problems, so I can't really complain, but I reckon I'll have the night off…

mrtcat
Rehearsal? What's that? 28 songs added to our repertoire this year and every one learnt in sound check or half time interval. Stressful way of doing it :-(
howdenspur
Blimey, that's nearly 2 back to back Springsteen shows. Or 8 back to back Ramones shows ! I admire your stamina, but my neck back and elbow (fretting hand side) would complain bitterly.
GarethFlatlands
I feel your pain too. My first band used to do 6pm to midnight on a Monday and Tuesday after work, all during the phase where I used the heaviest bass I've ever played. It was not always what I'd call "fun". bubinga5
why.?is it because its only once a month.? only my opinion, but that can't be healthy musical production. you must be knackered, and so must the guys your playing with. i don't practice that much on piano in a week. surely less is more.
5 hrs/week..? It'd take just under 40 years to attain mastery (if one is to believe the 10,000-hour rule..!) At 5hr/month, four times that..! At 5 hrs/day it still takes 3 and a half years..!
Ideally yes, we'd do the 'little and often' rehearsal schedule, but as there's close to 300 miles between us, we have to make the best of what we've got. We're all committed musicians who do our homework and fine tune/tweak stuff when we get together. It's a long day but it seems to work for us anyway.
