fumps Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Fantastic news. One of my favourite bands of all time Quote
Lw. Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Well that's exciting - saw them a few years ago & they still had it then! Quote
Mornats Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 One of my favourite bands of all time too and one of my very early bass influences! I've somehow managed to miss all of their live shows since I last saw them supporting GnR in 1992-ish. Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Angel Dust, pearl jam Ten, Nirvana nevermind, pumkins siamese dream all went round and round my walkman for about three years with very little else Quote
BassTractor Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Sigh! Just made 20 quid five minutes ago, and they're gone again! Great news! Quote
TheGreek Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 As Fumps says great news. I saw them at Brixton Academy years ago...very impressed by the rhythm section but couldn't figure out what the Bassist was doing... Quote

Danj Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 hah, I used to listen to Epic on my paper round. Mr bouncy bass sound himself... Quote
Tdw Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Used to like FNM, saw them live in 1998 and was amazed at how talented Mike Patton was. Quote
bubinga5 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 love Faith no More. this was from a favourite album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAUXPkx7gMI Quote
mrtcat Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Totally my favourite band for years. I got into the Brixton Academy gig aged just 12 thanks to my sister's then boyfriend and his mates. I've seen them loads including in the states. For me "the real thing" was their best but loved older stuff with chuck mosely and thought "angel dust" was a great album too. Thought they were way better whenever Jim Martin was involved. Quote
Mornats Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014
love Faith no More. this was from a favourite album.
Ah yes! Has to be one of my favourite FnM songs. This is the album where they matured into a really classy outfit in my opinion. fumps Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Its funny that FNM has been mentioned. I was in talks with a group of guys about joining them, They said they were a rock band and when they asked me to put some songs forward i told them I'd love to have a go at either "A small victory" or "Ashes to ashes" just to sound them out.....they sounded gob smacked and none of them had heard of FNM. they asked me to put forward "Something they all know" I didnt join lol I really hope they obtain their snearing comedy that I loved so much Edited September 3, 2014 by fumps Quote
Paul S Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I saw them at Hyde Park in summer. I'd never really paid them much attention before then but they really blew me away with one of the crispest, sharpest, edgiest live performances I have seen. The singer, whose name escapes me at the moment (see, I told you I wasn't a fan) was tremendous, real power and control in his voice. Quote
Skybone Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Saw them way back in 1988, with their original frontman Chuck Mosely. Never gelled with Mike Patton as a frontman after Chuck left. Quote

I got into them as Mike was just finding his feet as a frontman.....I still think he's one of the best I've ever seen live Quote
Roland Rock Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) They headlined Reading in 1990. I'm pretty sure that today's Health and Safety people would have a fit if they had seen what he was doing :-D Edited September 3, 2014 by Roland Rock Quote
Grassie Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 A favourite of mine too, true originals. Let's hope they've lost none of the attitude that made them so great in the first place. Calling your first single release in 18 years "Motherf***er" probably indicates they are as unhinged as ever. Quote
Ruiner Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yep definitely excited by this. The Angel Dust and King for a Day albums were listened to a lot during my formative years. Can't wait Quote
Roger2611 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I worked with them when they played the Roadmender in Northampton back in 1986ish when they had their original singer, they were the only band I worked with that beat me on the Pool table, cracking bunch of guys from memory Quote
miles'tone Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Saw them in '92 supporting Guns N Roses. They blew GnR, off the stage. Made them look cabaret by comparison. I've had Angel Dust on a lot in my van this summer actually - found my old tape(!). Hadn't heard it for nearly 15 years but my, it really is a timeless classic. Peerless band. Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014
it's a midlife crisis
Very good, sir, very good Quote
ickleben Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I saw them at Hyde Park this summer.. don't tell anyone but I did feel a tear roll down my cheek.. they were pretty damn good. Quote
