Marcus Miller 4 and 5 string price difference?

Out of interest why do the 4 and 5 string Marcus Miller signatures have such a difference in price when buying brand new? I love the look of them and the sound just thinking id be better off upgrading my 5 string playing to one but the price of the 4 is so much more appealing 😝 cheers?!

5 string is american made and the 4 string is japanese made... or maybe mexico now

mexican, never played one but i heard very good things about them, 'pparently they had a few upgrades

japanese sounds very nice, but they are very heavy.. i had 3 all between 4,8 and 5,2 kilo.... never kept them long

However the Marcus Miller's own basses are custom made in the States...the rest is just a good to fall asleep marketing story.

If you want to be really pedantic about it,the bass that the signature model is based is a '77 Jazz so obviously it is US made (with a Bartolini preamp if you want to be really picky). Regardless of his own instruments, the Marcus signature is really nice. I've not played a Mexican model but I've had a Japanese one since '06.
Back on topic, the current 4 string model is Mexican made while the 5 string is made in the US.
