BassTractor Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Thanks, John! Luvverly. Back in those days nobody ever cut off a finger, I presume. Quote
steve-bbb Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 how skilful is the guy on the band saw! Quote
yorks5stringer Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Watching that made me think how times have changed in manufacturing and also a comment someone made yesterday about how they'd not buy anything made in far east sweatshop! Quote
Phil Adams Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 I shall relish watching that later. Thanks Quote
Simon. Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 That's a really nice watch - thanks! A wonderfully naive lack of health and safety awareness, too. Especially the paintshop guys.... Quote
dougieb Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Great piece of film. I liked the hands on approach, shows how the World has changed. Also nice to see some of the Strats with their original 'ashtray' bridge covers. Great find and thanks for posting it. Quote

Johnm93 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Superb! Spot the safety equipment - None at all! Quote
HowieBass Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014
What a nice glimpse into the past, and not just of guitar manufacture. Interesting to note that those sought after vintage guitars are in fact largely Mexican made, too!
I thought the same thing seeing those surnames and I've noticed similar names when people have checked vintage necks and bodies for signatures and dates - I wonder if many owners on here have basses made by those exact people shown in the film? chriswareham Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The skill of the guy with the band saw is amazing. In the comments on YouTube, someone says that their parents are in the video and that he thinks there is more footage of a similar nature. Would love to see that as well, particularly if it shows basses being made! Quote
tappel Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 That is Abigail Ybarra at 5:57 of the video. She just recently retired in 2013. Tom Quote
Donnyboy Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Very enjoyable for all sorts of reasons Quote
