BassTractor
Thanks, John! Luvverly. Back in those days nobody ever cut off a finger, I presume.

yorks5stringer
Watching that made me think how times have changed in manufacturing and also a comment someone made yesterday about how they'd not buy anything made in far east sweatshop! Phil Adams
I shall relish watching that later. Thanks
Simon.
That's a really nice watch - thanks! A wonderfully naive lack of health and safety awareness, too. Especially the paintshop guys....
dougieb
Great piece of film. I liked the hands on approach, shows how the World has changed. Also nice to see some of the Strats with their original 'ashtray' bridge covers. Great find and thanks for posting it.

HowieBass
What a nice glimpse into the past, and not just of guitar manufacture. Interesting to note that those sought after vintage guitars are in fact largely Mexican made, too!
I thought the same thing seeing those surnames and I've noticed similar names when people have checked vintage necks and bodies for signatures and dates - I wonder if many owners on here have basses made by those exact people shown in the film? chriswareham
The skill of the guy with the band saw is amazing. In the comments on YouTube, someone says that their parents are in the video and that he thinks there is more footage of a similar nature. Would love to see that as well, particularly if it shows basses being made!
tappel
That is Abigail Ybarra at 5:57 of the video. She just recently retired in 2013. Tom
