Just seen this on Evilbay, I didn't know they used a 4 bolt neck and bullet truss rod?

DOH!
It's been listed as a 5
It's a 4
Everything looks right for a 2 band Eq Pre Ernie Ball
Possibly refinished body?
However
They've never made a Semi Fretless to my knowledge
That's odd

I'm most definitely not a Stingray expert, but the first thing that hit me was the logo doesn't look right.

I googled Stingray and it's nothing like the ones in google images.

Yep that is normal mate, pre EB rays were 3 bolt microtilt like Fender, then 4 bolt came in before they sold to Ernie Ball, 6 bolt neck and truss rod wheel adjusters came much later with the Stingray 5, It is a trans model probably 1986ish, it has the old logo but with ErnieBall on there too. :)

It is not a pre EB, first two things to check are
1-slab body, all pre EB Rays had one all Ernie Ball ones had the body contours from the very first one.
2-Dot marker on the 21st fret no pre EBs had one and all Ernie ball ones do.

As this has both and the trans logo rather than the left over pre EB neck logo it makes it no earlier than 1985, no rear decal pre 1987.

The frets have just been pulled and filled.

Was just about to say Stingraypete will be along shortly!

Yep but not a pre EB.

They still carry a small premium over a later EBMM one but fetch less than a pre EB Ray, most of them were in that finish too probably came with a clear pickguard when new.

I would rather it still had all its teeth though so I would factor in a refret off the final price.
