mikebass84 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Just interested to know how you go about storing/transporting all your leads. I used to place mine in the front pocket of my bass bag but once I started getting into pedals I started using a normal backpack. Until recently when I acquired this. (see pics). I added a few karabiners and a spare bass strap so I can carry it easier. BILL POSTERS Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) I just stuff the lot in an old sports bag, along with a couple of tuners, Mics, Pedal, bar towel, spare strap etc. That way everything is just where I can find it. Edited September 9, 2014 by BILL POSTERS Quote
Dad3353 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 [sharedmedia=core:attachments:171274] The angled-jack OBBM i/p cable gets wrapped around the head (it's never unplugged...). Same for the (Bulgin...) mains cable at the back. Lid on, fork-lift truck and away. Simples... Quote
barkin Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Tesco everyday value black nylon holdall. Quote
Happy Jack Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I use an empty impact-moulded plastic toolbox, the sort you see in every B&Q or Wickes. Why? Because you can stand on it (when putting the PA tops on the poles), sit on it (when taking a break), put the guitarist's combo on it (when he forgets to bring his amp-stand), etc. etc. etc. Multi-functional. It's the way of the future ... Quote
Bassman Steve Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I store them pretty carefully but never got the hang of the 'figure of eight' method so I have velcro cable ties at one and coil them up using the ties to keep them separate and easy to un-coil next time. I carry them in a two tier box from B&Q that has a folding handle and two wheels at the back. Nice little thing actually, very easy to use and plenty of space for all my stuff and the spares I habitually take round in case anyone else needs anything. Quote
TheSiberian Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) I use only Vovox Sonorus cables and they all have attached velcro ties. The pedal case is pre wired so I need only two long cables. No hassle. Best Edited September 9, 2014 by TheSiberian Quote
SpaceChick Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 My goddaughter and Godson bought me a rather lovely Radley sports bag..... I use it for my leads instead! Quote
JTUK Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 A couple of sports bags as they pack down easier in the car if need be. Quote
flyfisher Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Since getting a small amp (TC BH250). I keep it, plus bass leads, plus mains lead, plus cab cable, plus odds & sods, in a padded laptop bag. But all my PA & other cables & power strips I keep in two peli cases with wheels, a bit like a small wheelie suitcase. Quote
rubis Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 A Hugo Boss shoe bag.......just the right size for my needs Quote
Lozz196 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 A Wilkinsons tool bag. Comes in a rather fetching black with orange trim, so matches my gig-bag and speaker cover, which is very important. Quote

hairychris Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) At home they're lying around. At rehearsal studio I pack them in my pedal board case on top of pedals (so I know that I have everything with me). KevB Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Aluminium Camera/toolcase job from Maplins, pick them up when they are on their half price offer. Very solid, if you rotinely overfill them and strain the catches they will fail eventually but used sensible they last years. Quote

thisnameistaken Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I use one of these for all the cables I need to take with me to gigs/rehearsals: All the cables I don't take with me (extra spares, XLRs) live on a shelf in my office. Not ideal but the missus wouldn't like me putting up hooks and making a wall look ugly with them. Quote
inthedoghouse Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 A laptop case works just fine for me, and it opens flat so I can see what's what. Guitar cables in the main compartment each with a cable tie, speaker cables in the inside pocket and mains cable in the outside pocket :-) If I take my (small) pedal board that goes nicely in another laptop case. I made the pedal board to fit the case. Quote
goblin Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I've got reasonably small holdall (well, my dad HAD it... he doesn't know yet). In it I just keep all my ancillaries such as extension leads, spare speaker leads, box of batteries, iPad clamp, clip on fan, strings etc etc. Quote
Telebass Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Cables properly coiled and secured with Velcro ties, all kept in a basic holdall. The only exception is the custom OBBM cable for my IEM transmitter, and that lives with said transmitter. Quote

scalpy Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Laptop bag- anything small needed every gig in front pocket like pedal leads and ear plugs. Next pocket- stuff for repairs and batteries- main compartment, onstage leads and strap in front, speaker leads and iec lead in back- last compartment, amp and pedals. I realised the pedals were going to scratch my head so they live in old socks. Grey one for the tuner, it's boring, and a Lewis Hamilton sock for octave, it's more exciting. The rest of my life is chaos! Quote
