How do you store your leads etc

Just interested to know how you go about storing/transporting all your leads. I used to place mine in the front pocket of my bass bag but once I started getting into pedals I started using a normal backpack.

Until recently when I acquired this. (see pics). I added a few karabiners and a spare bass strap so I can carry it easier.

I use an empty impact-moulded plastic toolbox, the sort you see in every B&Q or Wickes.

Why?

Because you can stand on it (when putting the PA tops on the poles), sit on it (when taking a break), put the guitarist's combo on it (when he forgets to bring his amp-stand), etc. etc. etc.

Multi-functional. It's the way of the future ...

I store them pretty carefully but never got the hang of the 'figure of eight' method so I have velcro cable ties at one and coil them up using the ties to keep them separate and easy to un-coil next time.

I carry them in a two tier box from B&Q that has a folding handle and two wheels at the back. Nice little thing actually, very easy to use and plenty of space for all my stuff and the spares I habitually take round in case anyone else needs anything.

A Wilkinsons tool bag. Comes in a rather fetching black with orange trim, so matches my gig-bag and speaker cover, which is very important.

But clashes awfully with the Markbass rig... :lol;

At home they're lying around. At rehearsal studio I pack them in my pedal board case on top of pedals (so I know that I have everything with me).

These things are great:

All my cables > patch leads are tamed using them.

A laptop case works just fine for me, and it opens flat so I can see what's what.

Guitar cables in the main compartment each with a cable tie, speaker cables in the inside pocket and mains cable in the outside pocket :-)

If I take my (small) pedal board that goes nicely in another laptop case. I made the pedal board to fit the case.

Laptop bag- anything small needed every gig in front pocket like pedal leads and ear plugs. Next pocket- stuff for repairs and batteries- main compartment, onstage leads and strap in front, speaker leads and iec lead in back- last compartment, amp and pedals. I realised the pedals were going to scratch my head so they live in old socks. Grey one for the tuner, it's boring, and a Lewis Hamilton sock for octave, it's more exciting. The rest of my life is chaos!
