SammyDamacy Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 (edited) Price drop to £450 collected, or £475 posted. There's a Warwick on this forum that I've been lusting after, and so bass number two is coming up for the chop. Fender Special Run Antigua P bass, in a shiny as new condition. Bridge and pickup guards were added on to really give it that vintage look. I'm not a P bass person (please don't throw things), however this bass has always been the exception. It plays and sounds as well as it looks, I promise you that. £500 collected from West Sussex, however I can meet in Brighton pretty easily. Will post too, however will have to sort out some packaging (will be in a soft case) and price will be on top. Trade wise I'm not particularly interested unless it's an active Warwick, as that's where the money would be going, unless you think you have something that I'd be stupid not to take. All nitty gritty can be found here. I'll take some more pictures soon, until then, just this teaser! Edited September 23, 2014 by SammyDamacy
SammyDamacy Posted September 11, 2014 Author Posted September 11, 2014 She's a beaut! Forgot to mention, these were made in limited quantities - she only has 249 brothers and sisters.
tom1946 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 If you discount mine that's 248, fabulous basses.
karlfer Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 My old girl, can't believe it's almost 2 years since I sold her As can be attested by feedback Sammy's a top geezer to deal with, so somebody get it bought before I'm in trouble again
SammyDamacy Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 Thanks Karl! She draws all sorts of compliments on her looks and sound, and it weren't for wanting a new bass (and having no space remaining) that I've got to move one of them on, and still can't be convinced on P basses.
SammyDamacy Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 These lot were Mexican I believe.
karlfer Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 And built better than most US and Japanese I've played. I sold this to fund a long gone Status
Mr Fretbuzz Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I've got a mint G & L L2500 to trade and a Fender Cabronita P with a small chip to the wood at the back if you are interested. I'm also going to be in Southampton in a couple of weeks. Got an active Warwick Pro Series Corvette but you're not having that lol... It's a keeper and so will yours be when you get it :-)

Yeah spotted a couple of Warwicks that I would love for the £500 mark, so that would be super, and a keeper. And as Karl says, this P bass is a monster, even puts some American made to shame.

It's too much for me and I've only used it for scale practice at home. Got my Warwick off thomann for about £550... A few guys in the know say it's superb :-) Edited September 12, 2014 by Mr Fretbuzz
SammyDamacy Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 (edited) The G&L sounds really good to be fair, however I've got a MusicMan which I think sounds pretty similar. Got my heart set on a Warwick, but thanks for the offer! Edited September 12, 2014 by SammyDamacy
Mr Fretbuzz Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I've got a RAY 34CA but the G & L sounds different to me. I'm sure that you'll sell it but if not and you are interested please do let me know. I'm a Fender P Bass lover :-) check out Ed in this vid http://youtu.be/T95hIdjrzwc
