skidder652003
why the plectrum? Interesting...
stonevibe
The style of music we play needs that pick attack. Need a bass player that can handle using a plectrum. It just has that fantastic sound you won't get from fingers.
spacey
Probably because it is a skill many lack. Never met a pick player who can not play fingers, but met plenty who can not use a pick. As said it is a different style with attack punch on the sound. A bit of a lost art form these days.
stonevibe
Just essential that the player can use a pick properly as we need that sound for the songs. Have a few guys trying out this week, so hopefully get the position filled soon. Unfortunately the last couple that tried out could not handle a pick and so we couldn't use them. So just to be clear we really need a pick player to fill this position. Edited September 12, 2014 by stonevibe
