Got these today and A/B'd against Velvet Blues on my old boomy German flatback and they are just too dark and bass-y on my bass (it needs slightly brighter strings, especially when amplified). For reference these are (to my ears) extremely similar to Evah Pirazzi Weichs

Here's a vid of some dude playing Zyex strings. In case unfamiliar, these strings are highly favoured by bluegrass players (eg, Missy Raines and Barry Bales, Alison Kraus' bassist)
