OK, so I notice theres no post for my favourite combination on Fender basses, which is 3TSB, maple neck and gold anodized guard.

Heres mine, so lets see yours, and lets not be sunburst or maple biased, if its a gold guard, lets see it, especially those blondes....

Both of these were ones I put together. The black one now sold. The sunburst I still have, although it now wears a black pick guard.

My custom '57 and my Duck Dunn twins:

And although I love the look of anodized guards, I hate the feel of touching them (can't explain why, it just doesn't feel right). Therefore I have sprayed a clear coat over the guard of my custom '57 since its a luthier made and I can't devalue it by doing so. Pity I can't do so with my Fender made precisions, at least my good sense restricts me from doing so.

Chris, that looks fantastic, I don't often regret parting with basses, as there's normally a good reason, but that is an exception, what a fine, fine bass guitar that is!!

The '58 (?) and the blonde '82 are both... :gas:

Here's my gap-toothed peasant's edition... a mid-'82 JV Squier with an AVRI guard I added about 15 years ago. Just love this bass.

Apologies for the leafy reflections.

There's something about the gold that just sits right with me. There really are some lovely examples here.

I always wanted white with a gold guard, so I set out to put one together from parts, and in the end decided to stick with the blue. It's now my go-to bass, and the blue is definitely staying.

I love the classic '57 2-tone sunburst and gold look on a P as well. I haven't found a bass I like enough to keep yet though! I had a Roadworn and Classic 50s in the house together, the Classic was by far the better soudning and playing bass but the neck was too wide and the fingerboard edges too sharp. Should've kept the body from the Classic 50s and found another neck!

My 2009 Fender Roadworn...picked it up on ebay for silly money. Bought it initially to sell on for a profit, but despite the relic thing which I was originally not keen on, it's become a keeper.
I'm tempted to get it refinished in daphne blue at some point in the future.
Strung with an old set of Sadowsky flats & the original stock pickup swapped for Seymour Duncan 'Vintage' SPB-1.
A really good precision bass in every way. :)

it looks good in some basses, but I cannot stand the way if feels... shudder.
I just got a Classic 50 Precision, and I think I'm going to have to change the pickguard. It gives me the same feeling as scratching a blackboard with my nails... :(

I know what You mean. For the same reason I shot the guard of my custom 57 with a clear coat (can be seen above). Not the best solution, but still an option if You want to keep the looks.
