There's no point in talking about how it sounds because that will largely depend on that magical interaction of strings, woods and amplification of which to my mind the PUP is a pretty small part. However, it has been suggested that one of the virtues of this unit is that quite small rotations of the PUP in the bridge can make quite significant changes to the tone, so for the dabblers out there, this is ideal compared to most of the bridge mounted PUPs.

Like so much of my DB amplification stuff, I never got around to using it more than a couple of time

YOU WILL NEED TO DRILL A SMALL HOLE IN YOUR BRIDGE TO MOUNT THIS PUP (sorry for shouting but thought I'd make it clear

I listened to the pizzicato clip on their web site and it sounds fantastic. Do you know if there is an arco recording using the pickup? If it is as good as the pizz then I could be interested.

Do they have instructions in English?

Hi Simon

I have no idea to be honest, and not much time to go searching at the moment. I understand that one of the advantages of this PUP compared to other DB models is that you can, to an extent, tune it to your instrument by rotating it within the hole in the bridge (I'm not saying that you can't similarly fine tune other PUPs just that I haven't been able to do so to any significant degree with any that I've owned to date). I'd imagine on that basis that a decent arco tone will be achieved with some work, although of course the rotation/position of the PUP to get decent arco might be completely different to the rotation/positioning required to get a pleasing pizz. But that's amplifying DBs for ya!

I guess the best bet is to try?

Cheers

Chris
