CliveT
Has anyone tried Elites flatwound strings? Thinking of trying a set of 40 to 100 on my fretless jazz. How smooth are they? What's the tension and stiffness like? I've tried Rotosound flats but they are too stiff and the tension too high. TI flats are nice but maybe a little lose, and quite expensive. Machines
I think Steve Lawson uses them on his fretless Modulus.. sounds pretty good I know that much.
6stringbassist
Try the Status ones, they feel really nice, I hate really stiff strings, and I found the TI's to be too loose, the Status were just right. It's best to phone them though, they do have more gauges available than the website suggests. They're also pretty cheap.
geilerbass
I've used them before - they're fairly standard, nothing special. I'd recommend trying La Bella flatwounds. They're around the same price and feel a lot nicer.
