Clarky Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) I got this last month from the US. Brandon Essex makes the recently launched Troll microphone which has gained great plaudits on TalkBass, a number of users saying its better and more feedback-proof than the DPA4099 'gold standard' live mic http://trollmicrophone.com/ It needs a fethead filter to boost the sound and protect the ribbon mic from damage from phantom power http://www.studiospa...0?VBMST=fethead The Troll was $375 plus import taxes which came to about £275 in total, the fethead was £75 and the Planet Waves mic cable about a tenner. So my total outlay a few weeks ago was £360. Will sell the lot for £300 plus post. Why sell? Well it works well at home on my 3/4 DB but I really bought it to use with my down-sized Kolstein travel bass, which is my main gigging instrument, and it seems to be very much more feedback-prone with this boomy small bodied bass than my full DB. I haven't got time to fiddle about with balancing mic and piezo inputs live, would rather 'plug n play', so I am going to stick with my Underwood pickup on my Kolstein. So here's a chance to pick up a nearly-new, great condition Troll setup for those who want to try out a mic for their DB. Also saves you the hassle of importing from the US and a fair few pennies saved to boot. Clarky Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 Hey dudi8, I am not really looking for trades as I have plenty of strings, pickups, a preamp and (too many!) basses. What were you thinking? You can always try me but I'm afraid its not very likely - but hey try me! Only things I would like but don't have (and quite fancy) are the new Realist Lifeline pickup and a Tecamp Puma 500 amp
dudi8 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Actually I have the puma 500 but I'm not letting it go yet Pedals, preamps,iPad, kidney
