as for latin I have no recall whatsover

If you look up the active indicative conjugation for the verb ducere you'll see why I remembered it, and why I'm not going to finish it in a post!
Alternatively, ask your brother - I'll bet he remembers it to...
However, I might add that mentally I never got past 15.

How do!

Not been about for a while, been busy arranging a wedding then getting married. Here's my entry for this months challenge that I've knocked up.
It is a soundscape inspired by ideas and thoughts about Industrial ideas, sci fi, AI, could robots have thoughts souls etc. Anyway here it is

Nice one, good to have you back and congratulations on the recent nuptials! :drinks:

I haven't listened to any of the entries yet - I haven't started my own and like to leave it until I have something finished - but I'll give yours a listen along with the others in due course.

Cheers,

Paul

large parts of my youth were spent under a priest.
We were taught to be upstanding and smutty!

Ahem.... Or should that be Amen....

Here we are. I wanted to reflect both the power of the machine and the melancholy of the body language. I think I got it.

... and I think I'd agree. :)

Nice, thoughtful piece. It's probably down to my lack of culture, but I get a feeling of 'Terminator' from the theme (take that as a compliment, of course...). There's a certain serenity, with more than a hint of underlying menace (or power in reserve...). Very appropriate. Another quality work.

Now that I come to think of it, it's rare to hear you stray into the murky depths of grunge rock'n'roll. Hmm...

I don't hear Rock music really, Dad. I started w. NWOBHM but never wrote anything back then. I am studying composition and try to use what I am learning but there is the whole thing about actually PLAYING a piece that limits my options with the Composition Challenges. I learn a little more each time, tho'.

... and long may that continue, so that we other mere mortals can stand a chance..! :P

I wonder if Mozart found it difficult, not being able to play a trombone an' all..? He didn't even have MIDI..! :o

Mozart played the Joanna!!
Indeed, but he didn't let this handicap prevent him from composing for strings, or horns..! B)

I think, next month, I will submit a pdf of a score. People can read it and vote on what they think it would sound like if it was played!

I didn't listen straight away (busy with dinner and such...) but then got settled in, headset on, relaxed and comfy in my armchair for a proper appraisal.

I wish I hadn't.

I'm frightened, now...

Great fun Douglas, the moaning and groaning put me off a bit though , I made those sort of noises once , it was a long time ago and dark , and the thought of anyone else making them, doesn't seem quite right to me :P

I got inspired (arguably!) and with some crazy 'boning by a local jazzist, produced this:

For a change I used both Wal and Sandberg basses with plenty of effects to disguise them!

that works really well , excellent stuff

Ask my neighbours. It woke them up and has given them ideas...

I think I got this the wrong way round, my composition was supposed to reflect the picture rather than generate a load more

Robots!
I wish I'd found out about this earlier. I'm going to be really busy so I only had yesterday and today to get something done for this.
I have immense definciencies in mixing and mastering but it was loads of fun. I'd like to say I'll improve with next months but I'm going away, so.... December? If there's going to be a December one, I'm in.

Here's mine
