Pestie
Hello Has anybody got an idea of how much one of these 5 strings weighs please? I fancy a go at 5 string but am worried about the extra weight. Thanks Mike(Pestie)
Cameronj279
I owned one very briefly (although the 6 stringer) and found it to be pretty comfortable weight and I'm a really thin guy. I would have said it was maybe just over 4 kilos. If that.

Cameronj279
I will say don't quote me on it however! Just my memory of the bass was that it was a really comfortable weight I believe there is someone selling a Sr500 on here just now. maybe pop him a message to ask about the weight? icastle
Just under 8lb (or about 3.5kg).
ezbass
And, most importantly, really well balanced. The SR range basses are all really comfortable both on and off the strap.
White Cloud
These are very lightweight, comfortable and playable instruments. My Sr605 was a featherweight 7.5lbs and my SR1205 weighs in at 8lbs. Highly recommended.
icastle
I'm actually on my second one. My first one was about 4 years old when it got hit by a falling lighting bar. When the insurance company paid out I didn't even bother looking to see what else was available, I just ordered a replacement SR505 straight away. IMO, Ibanez could have added £150 to the price ticket and nobody would have questioned it.
Count Bassy
Brilliant instruments in my opinion. Bought a GWB35 (fretless) first, then a 505 as it seemed the closest thing to a fretted GWB35, then a 605 purely because I prefer the look of the lighter body. Still got all three!
