Skol303 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 C'mon... it's not THAT bad!! I just had a listen and expected something truly awful having read this thread. But it was just... well, 'ok'. Not especially brilliant, but not especially offensive either. Worse things happen at sea. Like those horrific shanties. Terrible business. Quote

bassbiscuits Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 My mate has just spent ages learning this for his solo acoustic set, with all the proper complex chords and everything, only to be ambushed by this. To say he's miffed doesn't really cover it....! Quote

bassbiscuits Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Well, that it's sort of been hijacked as a Children In Need song rather than being an unusual tune you don't normally hear a solo acoustic player tackling... Quote

UglyDog Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 (edited)
If it parts a few twits who don't know any better with their cash then that's job done as far as I'm concerned. On that basis alone I can tolerate it's existence and as previously mentioned, there are an awful lot worse things out there.
I hardly think people who essentially give money to charity can be described as 'twits'..? Apart from that one word, I'm in broad agreement. If it wasn't for the charity aspect, it'd have few if any redeeming features IMO. Right motive, wrong song choice. Edited October 9, 2014 by UglyDog Quote
