lowlandtrees Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 My EUB bridge looks a bit precarious. Was wondering if it needs set up or whether I can just loosen the strings and straighten. Would it just get pulled over with the string tension? I don t think that it has great contact with the top. I am reluctant to touch the thing in case the pole comes loose. I use a Bass Master piezo pup lodge into the bridge. Quote
Legion Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 You can loosen the strings and adjust it straight, but bear in mind that as you ension them back up again, they may well attempt to pull the bridge again. On an acoustic double bass the feet are also supposed to align with the "nicks" in the F holes...I'm not exactly sure what is happening there with your EUB but it looks wrong unless the bottom of the bridge feet are supposed to line up with the mark?
