40hz Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Hi Guys. Trying to clean my 2010 MIM neck (it's getting really grimy now) Never been able to find a definitive answer on this, searched high and low across the t'interweb! Closest I found to an answer was using lighter fluid? maybe i'm being too precious, but to me using something like that on my Jazz Bass neck seems a little risky? Cheers Quote
Andyjr1515 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I have to say, that's what I would use (in the US they call it naptha) but wait until you've had some more answers before you do just in case someone posts 'DONT USE THAT!!!!!' Quote
eddiehoffmann Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I don't know how grimy you're talking about, but I had a pretty sweaty tour this summer and the satin finish on my P Bass was getting pretty sticky despite me cleaning it with a flannel after the shows as usual. I bought some Dunlop 65 guitar polish & cleaner as recommend by the guy in the shop and it worked really well. Not only for the neck but for the body too. Quote
