Rainbass
Hi I'm going to have a go playing bass in a folk rock band that has a line up of 2 fiddles, cello, electric guitar, accordian, bouzouki and drums, so plenty of frequencies going on in there! They have some recordings from rehearsals at http://www.reverbnat...ornfolkrockband The Cellist is a very good, lyrical player, and I tend to be a bit on the busy side (there, I've come out at last and admited it!) so I will probably stick to more root/5th territory, at least to start with. Just wondered if anyone else had any experience of playing alongside a cello. They seem to go down to C, so cover a fair bit of the same range as the bass. I could take the 5 string along (and it never get's out much!) to get a bit more seperation. cheers Dave
pete.young
Bellowhead seem to manage OK with cello and bass , OK helicon but the same principle applies. Cello doesn't have to play bass lines!
alyctes
Cello does go down to C (tuned in fifths, CGDA).
