police squad Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 It seems to cut out using a speakon lead. No fault light and continues through the DI perfectly. So I'm now using a speaker lead. Any one else had this problem Quote
3below Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 It might be the speakon connector on the cable. My QSC power amp is very discriminating - it likes genuine Neutrik connectors, will not play with 'copies'. Quote
M@23 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Sorry to be the one to ask here, but you've ruled out it just being a faulty speakon cable/connector? Quote
police squad Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 I've been using the same lead since I got the amp. It doesn't get a hard time. Wiggling it in the socket makes a difference. I'll check it though. (I didn't even think of checking it, I just presumed the socket was at fault) Quote
police squad Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 can't work out how to take them apart. genuine neutrik though Quote
taunton-hobbit Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I wouldn't even try and 'fix' a neutrik - if 'wiggling it' makes a difference, I'd grab a new (genuine) one off EBay. Worn used plugs are always trouble long-term. Quote
bartelby Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Is it the basic blue, grey and black plastic kind, a NL2FC? If it is there's a little rectangular hole in the grey collar. You need to push the little catch down. Then there's screw terminals for the cable. Check there's nothing loose. The blue bit unscrews too, by the way, releasing the cable grips Quote
Bill Fitzmaurice Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014
can't work out how to take them apart. genuine neutrik though
http://www.neutrik.com/en/instructions Quote
police squad Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 as far as I can see there is nothing wrong with the leads or connectors. maybe just a dirty socket Quote
