paddy109
Bass - Strunal 50/4 Strings - variety of synthetics but also Obligatos, guts and other steels. Problem - the A string always sounds the weakest of the four strings. This became even more noticeable when recording recently through a mic. Is there anything I could do to help with this? zero9
If all other strings sound fine, it's most likely to be a set up problem. If there are no obvious defects / irregularities at the nut or bridge, or you not sure what to look for, I would recommend taking it to a luthier type person who can look at it. Pictures of the bridge / nut / general set up etc posted here might help further.
paddy109
No problems that I can tell and I think that's why I am more puzzled.
oggiesnr
I had a similar problem which was cured by moving the sound post. Tend to agree it's luthier time. Steve

paddy109
I wondered about the bass bar and was reading on this last night. OK a trip to a luthier is needed in the future. Thanks.
