Mmm, OK Paul - but I'm sticking my neck out a bit here... this is a short clip from a (much longer!) jam that was recorded at rehearsal on a Zoom H1 in the room, so if you're expecting top production values I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed! :)

However, you should get a rough idea of the SB-2...

Hmm OK, then - due to popular demand, I've recorded another clip... :lol:

SB-2 recorded direct to FL Studio 11 via a UA5 Audio Interface with no FX or processing.
Straight from my fingers to your ears... eww. :blink: Don't worry, it's only about a minute's worth...

Very nice Mark, nice and warm and rounded, with some good breakup. The pickups must be quite hot to get that breakup without any effects.

Sounds surprisingly G&L - a little like a JB-2 but also like an L2000 - with a little more open sound (parallel mode??).

It has it's own voice. What kind of strings is she wearing? For some reason I'm hearing flats or groundwounds.

I've invested a fair amount in my soundcard and headphones and bass sounds like that make me so happy that I did! B)

I quite like that latest soundclip but I'd try and thin out the HB's to get more of the character of the sound to come thru.

This is the problem with powerful HB type pickups, IMO for a short term gain in volume..( which is what the amp does anyway )

Thank you... I'm still coming to terms with the pickups, they are pretty hot. It's quite a hot recording too, fairly close to 0db. I could probably have got closer to where you're thinking by backing off the recording level a bit and not digging in quite so much. :)

Sorry Liam, I missed this - you have a good ear - she is wearing Status HotWires Half Wounds. :)
At the moment I am either using those or Fender 9050ML Flats 50-100.

I find full rounds to be generally too bright, hence the Half-Wounds. Sorry, Mixed-Wounds. :rolleyes:
