FinnDave
I've used my Ashdown EB180-12 combo on a few gigs, it did OK against two guitars, harmonica and a hard hitting drummer. I paid £90 for mine, plenty around on E Bay, etc.
Paul S
That second Peavey combo is pretty damned good for the cash! And only 22kg?! I didn't know these existed. I wonder if you could plumb in a second ext. cab?

[/quote] Given that max. power is quoted @ 8 Ohms, and looking at the pictures, I'd say no.
Mudpup
Those Peavey prices are mad........ You could run it for free for a couple of years and still not lose much if you pass it on Wow
razze06
Someone on BC is selling a full peavey rig from the early 80's for £150. It is the opposite of light and portable, but il will pin the audience (and the rest of the band) to the back wall at full whack... 3below
The Peavey combos above seem outstanding value? Has anyone used one, own one, any comments?
Magic Matt
I own a now very old Peavey combo and I love it. My only complaint really is it's heavy as hell. In terms of being solid, it was second hand when I bought it almost 14 years ago, and gigged usually about once a month since then, and has been gigged really heavily over the last year (2 or 3 times a week) and even dropped down two flights of concrete steps. It's still going strong. The only reason I'm replacing it is I fancy making something and wanted to have something unique, and hopefully a bit louder (mine's an old 115S - 75 watt). Even then I probably wont get rid of it.
odmid
Thanks again for all your help! The big problem with second hand is I'd rather try before I buy, which means travelling, which is difficult. (I live in South Wales, where not much goes on) I think I'll go for the Peavy 112, perfect for what I need!
