I've had some personal problems lately. Because of these, I've been told to have a break from Nearly Dan. I'm gutted, of course. If anyone is thinking of going to see the band from now until January/February, I won't be on the gig. I'm not sure if I'll get the gig back, even though the band was originally my idea. 17 years and I've never missed a gig.

That is sad, Pete, but health and stuff comes first.
17 years is fab going and I take my hat off to any band that can go that long
and stay fresh and viable.
I hope it works out for you and you get the best result all round.

Sorry to hear that (both Pete and Spike), I hope you're back playing soon. I'm now semi-retired from music for health reasons. Luckily my acoustic side-project will still have occasional gigs, and I should be up to occasional depping in the New Year.

I don't think I'd ever last 17 years in the same band even if it was music I enjoyed doing. Now I'm too old to even contemplate it! Have a good break from it Pete, get out and do other stuff, play stuff you might not have otherwise done. Drop in at a few jam sessions, do some networking. Maybe pick up the odd dep gig. They will realise by Feb that they can't find anyone else that plays the lines quite like you do anyway.
