Telebass
Will hopefully have my first DB in about a week. My combo has a Little Mark2, which has a balanced XLR input supposedly for DB. What sort of pickup gets plugged into this, or is it a line out from a preamp that's needed? Edited October 14, 2014 by Telebass
Mr Bassman
In my experience with Markbass amps a K&K Bassmax works well into the normal jack input without the need for a pre amp. If you're switching between b.g. & upright then something like a Plat Pro could be plugged into the XLR or the effects return. Have fun
Telebass
Thank you! Will check this out once I have the beastie in my hands...or it has me in ITS hands!
TheRev
The XLR on the Markbass amp is designed for a microphone rather than a pickup. I've tried running the XLR output from my Fishman preamp into the XLR input on my LMII and the signal was too low to be of much use. You'll get much better results with your pickup going into the main input of your amp.
Telebass
May try one of the cheap J-tones for a starter- high impedance, so plug in as normal.
