mep Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Yesterday a thread was started called Oooh I Say Mrs Peter Crouch and featured a picture of Abbey Clancy and what looks like a P Bass. The picture was from the Huffington Post http://www.huffingto..._n_5994450.html I posted at lunchtime and when i got home to review my content the thread had gone. OK. So it's anther teasing photo of Abbey Clancy, and one of many. The photos are easily seen on the web site and I am not restricted from seeing them with my IP filter on. Why was the thread deleted? Were some of the posts getting too risque? Some people like to get a bit carried away at times. I can't imagine it was just down to the photograph. When I click on my history I get the error message [#10340] You do not have permission to view this topic. Hopefully a Mod will come along to explain. Quote
Dad3353 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 The OP was judged a bit 'limit', then some of the comments went too far beyond schoolboy humour, and a collegial decision was taken to remove it as unsuitable for 'General Discussion'. Quote
wateroftyne Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 And for the record, PMing a mod is the preferred method for raising these queries. :-) Quote

xilddx Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 No criticism of the mods from me on this, but I'm interested in the philosophical implications of why it's ok for kids to see sexualised images of women baring their breasts in The Sun, but not on Basschat. It is obviously legal to publish such images as there is no age restriction of The Sun, there were no naked breasts in this thread or on Huff Post. So is it simply context? Quote

gary mac Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Nige, it wasn't so much the pic in the OP, more the nature of some of the comments. Quote
gary mac Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Sorry WOT and I posting at the same time Quote
Mickeyboro Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Bah! I have no objection to pics of Mr Crouch bring posted to balance the argument. I don't promise to look at them... Quote

yorks5stringer Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 It could have been worse, imagine Peter Crouch straddling a P Bass.....?! Quote

thisnameistaken Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Seems an entirely laudable editorial decision to me. Good call, mods. Quote

mep Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Ok. No surprise really. Thought it was due to some posts. At least not mine. Thanks for the clarification. Next time I'll PM to ask such questions. I hoped Peter crouch played bass and it was his and he secretly visited BC. Quote

waynepunkdude Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 IMO these thread do come across as a bunch of pervy old men going 'thwar' which I don't think is on on what should be a family forum. Quote
