It is a lot of fun, but I cannot get my head around the extra string and I know I will trip up when I am playing in anger. No. It only costs £225 new. It is an entry into messing with 6 string basses. At the moment it is strung bottom F#BEADG. It speaks fairly well all the way down but needs a pretty hefty rig to make it happen in a meaningful way. You could just re-string it BEADGC and do your thing that way. The fit and finish are WAY better than they have any right to be for the money. To have entry level instruments of this quality means that we are actually living in the golden age of lutherie. I have not played it out of the house and knew even when I bought it that the whole thing was an experiment. Carriage will be at cost. As usual I am doing this late before going to bed.
