Prime_BASS
I'm after an electro-acoustic and the only one that tickles me in terms of sound and looks is the takamine TB10, to me it's basically a double bass for us lazy people. Only I don't have what these are asking price wise. Anything good enough that's cheaper? Edited October 23, 2014 by Prime_BASS
AndyTravis
http://www.talkbass.com/threads/aria-feb-fl-f-n-acoustic-electric.1103882/ Seen these on eBay a few times. Not as developed as the tb10 in terms of a portable double bass, looks the part though.
stachlmacher
That Aria looks pretty sweet. Does anybody here own this or can tell us about feel and sound?
EssentialTension
I have a Takamine B10 which was the predecessor of the TB10 - although the only difference is the preamp and I have changed that anyway. The Takamine does not sound exactly like an upright bass although nor does it sound quite like a fretless bass guitar. It is kind of in the middle with a sound of its own. I think the best alternatives are also pricey (e.g. Rob Allen) and I suspect an ordinary fretless acoustic bass guitar might well sound very good but not quite like the TB10. Second hand TB10s do occasionally appear on BC - that's how I got mine.
stachlmacher
I really love the Takamine but it is a bit pricey for me. I already own a full size upright bass so an electric-acoustic bass can sound rather like a fretless than an upright. Does any member here know more about that Aria FEB-FL? I am considering buying one.
