bassace
Saw him at Cornbury a couple of years ago. he was very smiley and his playing was great. RIP Jack, one of the true greats. Very sad.
Cosmo Valdemar
Very sad, but not a massive shock. He looked extremely frail in his last BGM appearance. Still, a huge loss. I was never a Cream fan but his early solo albums are among my favourites. I think I'll dig out my EB3 tonight. crag42
Truly great bass player and I'm sure a massive influence on many here knew it was coming having seen him in a magazine recently looking really thin and quite ill RIP JACK
sblueplanet
One of the first bassplayers I was ever introduced to. R.I.P. to a fellow Scot.
Bass Culture
RIP Jack. If it wasn't for 'Badge' I don't think I'd ever have wanted to play bass. A great loss. Edited October 25, 2014 by Bass Culture
timmo
He was the main reason i went to the London Bass Show, and he pulled out due to illness. Very sad news

Oldman
[quote name='Russ' timestamp='1414252265' post='2587549'] Only ever got to see him once, with BBM at Brixton back in '93 or so. Great show. To be honest, I loved his voice more than his bass playing, although he did play a mean bass. Only Ginger left out of those three now. Oldman
I still struggle with Born under a Bad Sign singing and playing. An inspiration to me from Graham Bond days when I saw him twice at Chester Quaintways playing his Fender Six string which at my stage of competence ( non existent ) and age (16) seemed amazing, still does. spinynorman
Very sad. He'll be remembered as a great musician and a highly talented song writer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YguY_jUDXRs

ShergoldSnickers
'Badge' was one of the first basslines I learned. I was 17 and had just bought a Wilson Rapier bass. An early and important influence. Sad, sad news.
