howdenspur Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 The first player I really admired. Very sad. Quote
Bassman Sam Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Gutted to hear this, the man was a true legend. Quote
Dad3353 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Some unforgettable music, an early influence. A sad day; respect. Quote
zero9 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Very sad, massive loss of a great musician and bassist. Quote
rogerstodge Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 The very reason i bought my gibson, RIP Mr Bruce Quote
Russ Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Only ever got to see him once, with BBM at Brixton back in '93 or so. Great show. To be honest, I loved his voice more than his bass playing, although he did play a mean bass. Only Ginger left out of those three now. Quote
Dr.Dave Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 PHUQ. Tonight I'll try and show the punters of Doncaster a few of his lines. Jack was certainly a player I copied when I was learning - but I was only copying , he thought them up. Thankyou , Jack. Your body of work goes on. Quote
chris_b Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Bad, bad news. . . . . Saw Cream many times and he never failed to give a thundering performance. I also saw Jack Bruce excelling in Tony Williams Lifetime and the John L Walters band. Quote
ern500evo Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Genuinely gutted about this, I'm sure JB was a huge influence on many of us here. Rest in peace sir, you absolute legend! Quote
AttitudeCastle Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Only just heard, absolutely gutting. Jack was a huge influence on me, I'm still striving for that fat neck coil tone and to maybe one day be able to sing a scratch as well as him. Sad times indeed. Rest In Peace Jack Bruce. Quote
vsmith1 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Very sad day. Saw him in Kendal just a year or two back. Tremendous musician. Quote
