Good evening, all...
I have decided to promote, each in turn, the compositions presented in the monthly BC Composition Challenge. I shall give my own, personal, view of the piece, in the hope that at least some will be inspired to give the work a listen, and perhaps a vote as their favourite. All the pieces can be heard here...

An echoing electronica ambiance introduces itself, setting the stage for a slow, insidious beat. This is joined and underpinned by a deep bass and various haunting 'workshop' effects and percussions. The hypnotism is established... but no..! There's a pause, a breathing space in which a backdrop builds up behind a series of glitches to introduce the return to work, but now with a floating melody line. The relentless but delicate pounding is back with its lot of subtle variations an d cross-rhythms, taking us to the final phase in which the insistence is replaced by a last grinding before returning to silence.
I imagine a workshop, where the giant 'creature' is to be refurbished using an army of skilled precision workers, each with their hand, mechanised and motorised tools and gadgets. They beaver away until their lunch break, to return with even greater ardour until all there is left to do is a final polishing. The lights are extinguished when the shift is over; the robot glistening in the dark.

Tomorrow will feature 'Glowing Eyes', from alibabu.

Until then...

Have a nice day

Douglas
