KevB Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Didn't enjoy the second one as much as the first but there just weren't any bands featured that I have real interest in so not surprising. Coincidentally I didn't think the resulting song performed at the end was as good as the last one either. Quote
Jacqueslemac Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014
ep. 2 http://www.bbc.co.uk...2-washington-dc
Is it straight to iPlayer or does the BBC transmit it on a "normal" channel first? Happy Jack Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014
Sorry, I wasn't aware I wasn't allowed to have a differing opinion. I'll edit my post for you shall I?
I suspect that most BCers spotted that my comment was intended to be humorous. And therefore not be taken seriously. I didn't really think it necessary to splash the smileys about, but since you ask: Enjoy! Quote

Protium Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Foo Fighters, the only gig I've walked out of. Should be called "Dave Grohl Screams At You For Two Hours" Quote

Looks like Ep 1 & 2 had an airing last Sunday on BBC4, then episodes 3-6 will be iPlayer-only, rounding out the series with Ep 7 & 8 in December on BBC4 again, or so I am lead to believe. So far, its been an entertaining and informative series with some really good interviews with musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds and genres. I though the Nashville episode was fascinating (not a huge fan of C&W music in general, but have to admit, the musicianship and production are top-notch). Anyway, horses for courses as always Quote
Geddys nose Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Nashville best episode for me so far, Funny about the punks and country comment in the program I've always found it true too. Great seeing Steve Earle would have loved to have seen Hank 3, he always has something to say about Music Row. Quote
Twincam Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Really is a great series. Much appreciation to the op for the heads up. So if you've not seen it and are interested in music these really are worth a watch. Quote
NoRhino Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I'd not heard of Trouble Funk before. Now i'm hooked. The whole documentary is very good. Quote
Gomez68 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Yes agreed brilliant series I saw the first two on BBC4 I heard then it's gone to another channel, is that right? Quote

Hutton Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) I got the 'Sonic Highways' album yesterday. Eight very nice tracks (if you like the Foos that is). Edited November 12, 2014 by Hutton Quote

spongebob Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Cool - I'll be watching that later. Love the album as well - some great playing on there (although the bass lacks definition IMHO, as with most modern productions). Proof that you can make a good rock record in 2014. Sure, it's nothing new, but who cares? Great songs played well....love it! Quote
Bottle Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Watched it now - loved the ethos of recording out in the desert. Will have to get the album off of Amazon for Xmas Quote
KevB Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Ep 5 - did I spot some serious Ric abuse around the 25 min mark? Quote
vsmith1 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Darn missed ep 4 Austin - they are only on iPlayer for 6 days!!! Quote
