Marvin
On the Yamaha website they only seem to be producing one signature TRB, the John Patitucci 6 string. And if you browse the online stores many of the other models say discounted. Seems an awful shame if they have. EDIT. They might still be doing a 1005j Edited October 28, 2014 by Marvin
CamdenRob
I tried to get hold of a 1006j early last year and GAK said there was only one available in europe. I cancelled the order as it was going to take months but I think they did eventually get it in stock. Must have been the end of the line round about then... CamdenRob
I think it was Patitucci... it was Red in its most recent incarnation and higher spec than the regular 1006 if I remember rightly. Truckstop
John Myung used to have the RBX signatures. John Patitucci and John Petrucci are two different people Truckstop
CamdenRob
A veritable smorgasboard of Johns the Yamaha endorsee list....
UglyDog
Myung is an EBMM endorser now, isn't he? Seems to be playing a Bongo 6-string exclusively these days.

uncle psychosis
I assumed the TRB100x model was doomed when they introduced the TRBX series. A shame, because they are fantastic basses, but then again I suspect Yamaha haven't sold too many of them. Judging by the second hand prices there's not a lot of demand for them
LeftyJ
Too bad, I love TRB's. I have owned two TRB5II's (one in Amber and one in Trans Blue), and both were fantastic basses and great value for money too. I liked the later TRB100x series too, same great feel and same electronics but different body woods (alder instead of ash, with a very pretty maple veneer top). Marvin
I've emailed Yamaha to ask if it is it for the TRB range. I also checked the Yamaha US site and it's disappeared from there too. It'll be interesting to see what they say. I was only saying to someone the other day that I'd like to get a TRB next. 😕
Machines
I imagine they are touting the new TRBX range and trying to dissolve both the RBX and TRB range as there is a bit of overlap.

Weststarx
Interesting! Hope that means theres space for new Yamaha bass to emerge!
Ghost_Bass
It's a shame, love my TRB5PII and i wont let it go. I would love to find a TRB5P to add to my collection but they're hard to come by... I also hope that they release new bass amps, after the BBT500H amp and cabs they haven't released nothing! I loved the PB1 preamp i used to have, only sold it because the F1X took its place. Also loved the sound of a B100II head, glorious!

Truckstop
Yeah the NE-1 Parametric EQ was also a very handy piece of kit. I love Yamaha stuff and would seriously look at an up to date amplifier and cab. Truckstop

[/quote] PJ configuration: TRB5PII: TRB5P: EDIT: Appart from the PU difference it also looks a bit smaller on the body so it should be lighter... i think...
