CamdenRob Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) Anyone manufacture a bass specific version of a belt clip style preamp these days? I'm sure Sadowsky used to make one? A quick google search turns up a few but they all seem to be voiced for acoustic guitar. I've also seen a nice shiny fishman one which might be suitable, although that also looks primarily geared towards acoustic instruments. I'd like a decent quality preamp to clip on my belt / strap for use with my Fenders, has to be battery powered as well... anything out there I'm missing? Edited October 28, 2014 by CamdenRob Quote
dannybuoy Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Vox Amplug? Just hand out of your jack socket rather than the belt clip. Quote

I was more looking for a Sansamp style unit in a belt clipable, battery powered package. Edited October 28, 2014 by CamdenRob Quote
Bigwan Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) You could have somebody box up your onboard preamp of choice. Sadowsky, Aguilar, EMG... Or any 9v pedal design you fancy... The world is your mollusc of choice... Edited October 28, 2014 by Bigwan Quote

zero9 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Supply and demand, not much of a market out there. If you're looking for that level of functionality / amp sims, you'll probably be looking at an iphone with interface. Not sure why you'd want to clip a preamp onto your belt though. Quote
uncle psychosis Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Why do you need it to clip on? Whats wrong with a pedal one? Quote

[/quote] That's was my first thought. I've just bought a £6 3 band on board eq from China and I'm going to put it in a pedal case, if I like the general idea I might swap the gubbins out for a more upmarket eq. Quote
CamdenRob Posted October 28, 2014 Author Posted October 28, 2014 I'd just like to have control local to me like using an onboard preamp... just being lazy I guess I could quite easilly bend down and adjust a pedal instead. Quote
