Twincam Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Need some strings that suite high action. So probably lower tension im guessing would be better, however i don't like light gauge strings. So any recommendations for rounds and flats, would be appreciated. Quote
gary mac Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 High or low, I'd be happy using DR Highbeams or D'addario Pro Steels. Quote
Beer of the Bass Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Nylon tapes tend to be low tension and big gauges, so they could be worth a try. Quote

HowieBass Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I've got some Rotosound nickel rounds on my Curbow 5 and they're quite compliant (RS665LDN set 45, 65, 85, 105, 130). Quote
I had a set of D'Addario tapes on for a while and I'd say they're brighter than many flatwounds. Apologies for the shameless plug, but the three tracks here were recorded with them. http://jenthegents.b...um/right-now-ep Graham Maby with Joe Jackson managed to be pretty bright sounding with tapes too, though in a fairly earthy, clanky sounding way.
