kevvo66
I was in the studio last night ,doing a demo ,my mind went blank I messed up every single bass line I played and had to re-record every single track agiain I found this quit worrying to be honest and really simple bass line ,my timing was out everything was a total balls up ,I just wanted to go home and makes me doubt my playing this happenend the other week while I was playing a paying gig what's happening to me I'm really annoyed with myself and feel like launching my gear into the local river!!!! discreet
I sympathise with you, yet I'm going to annoy you with this little homily: 'Amateurs practise until they get it right - but professionals practise until they can't get it wrong...' SteveK
"Red light syndrome" basically, the pressure gets to you! What may be as simple as p*** to play at home becomes the hardest thing to get right when you feel you're under such intense scrutiny. It's not uncommon and should ease with experience. discreet
Redlightitis. Overcoming it is a skill in itself!
It sure is. We always record our rehearsals so the band is very used to being recorded. So when we go into a studio it's much less of a big deal. kevvo66
Cheers guys ,I was very tired to ,moving house and then hitting the studio perhaps was not a good idea really!!!
ubit
Happens to us all mate. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on worrying and just keep on rehearsing. I've seen me forget simple songs that we have been playing for years, then worry about it so much next time that I cock up again. Sometimes you just have to relax and let it flow
mikebass84
Good old Red light syndrome. Last time I was in the studio recoding my latest EP I nailed the two hard tracks and then RLS kicks in on a track I could play in my sleep using my feet. JapanAxe
Red light fever. I have experienced this even when recording stuff on my own, with no one else even in the house, let alone the room!
