lowregisterhead Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) On offer are two lovely Status 5-strings, only for sale due to a custom bass I have on order now nearing completion. This one: Series 5000, made in 1990, graphite through neck and composite body, in a beautiful unfaded red. The 3-digit serial number is stamped on string retainer (06X). One of the first thru-neck 5 string basses Rob Green made, and one of only 4 of its type in this series, making it very rare. A great sounding bass in extraordinary condition for its age - the previous owner kept it under his bed for most of its life. 18 volt PS1 circuit - pan, volume and treble cut/boost controls. 15mm string spacing. No significant marks anywhere, just a bit of finger swirl on the finish if you look closely, and no visible fret wear, although they could probably do with a polish. Comes with original fitted semi-flight case. These two basses will only be offered for sale on BC for 2 weeks, then they'll be off elsewhere, so please note your interest promptly or they will be gone! One photo of the other bass, listed separately, is also below. NOW SOLD! Edited November 23, 2014 by lowregisterhead
lowregisterhead Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 Plenty of interest, but still here for the moment...
RaNoFuNkY Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Beautiful! Is there a difference between the nut (or first fret) width between the two?
lowregisterhead Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 (edited)
Beautiful! Is there a difference between the nut (or first fret) width between the two?
Yeah, a little... the 5000 fingerboard widths are 48mm (approx 10mm string spacing) at the nut and 68mm (approx 15mm string spacing) at the 24th fret. The S2 is approx 49mm/11mm and 74mm/18mm. Edited November 8, 2014 by lowregisterhead
