Wil
Soldering is well worth learning. My old Series 1 Status had a few dry joints when I got it, so I redid them. It's easy!
ped
I am sure there will be a basschatter in the area who could help out.
Kev
well i cant afford to get it fixed so itl have to remain as it is til september the notch in the brass nut for the d strings is too large, but because the neck has a zero fret it doesnt seem to be causing any problems, looking at the fret wear at the d on the zero fret it looks like its been like that for sometime. but yeah the bass plays great, just tweaking the truss rod and action now, i like it led's are funky too. hopefully this will be a simple fix and il have a cracking bass for £200 seller is a good guy too, emailed him about the problem before i discovered that it was loose, and he offered to give me money back which i thought was sound of him. i of course refused as if it is just a loose or damaged pot, its parcelforce i have to blame. he swears it worked fine before he sent it, good enough for me
Wil
Really, its a perfect opertunity to get to grips with basic soldering. It's literally a case of holding the iron on the joint until its hot enough to melt the solder, applying said solder, and removing the heat. 5 minutes max! Kev
i know how to solder, its just im careless and iv damaged circuit boards in the past, and id rather just leave it. il probably get this and my stingray all serviced n that when my loan comes through. just finished setting up the bass, i imagine the neck will settle quite fast with the graphite in it n all, bass plays great, il try n get some photo's up soon! watch out in gear porn
ped
I should badger local Basschatters. I never use repair places any more, just bass playing locals with more skill than me! Cheers ped

If you can get to meet up on my way down, I can always drop it into Rob for a look while he's doing mine. Rich,

OutToPlayJazz
Ah well, let us know how you go on. If anyone can shuttle the bass across the country and meet me on my way from the Humber Bridge down to Colchester one day next week, we'll try and put something together for you, Kev.
