jazzyvee
They do have a method of serial numbers and for recent years and models the details are linked on computer so new owners can get a faster response when making a serial number check. but the older vintage models are still on cards so those take time and who knows if they will ever get on to computer. This is an snippet from their support page.👍🏾😀 Serial Number Guide The first two dgits of the serial number are the year the instrument was completed. The code letter tells you the model. The next group of numbers must be from two to five digits and is the number of the instrument. Thus 94H8692 is an Elan bass completed in 1994 and is the 8692nd instrument was made. We started with number 1 in 1972 and when an instrument is finished, it received the next number, regardless of model. Any "A" or "B" after number is on the rare occassion that we duplicate a number. Hey, even we make mistakes. Is that a tuner at the back or is the tuner at the other end, like the P bass kits you get (that in fact, I have)

I had been intending to put it on a P, but then this body came up. I may find myself having to drill through and use bolts, or add an anchor/tailpiece, though.
